Previous Updates

April 21. 08 - Just a few things to mention, since it's still quite quiet in Degrassi-land. First up, the Paige-Alex Dot Com one year anniversary is fast approaching. Nikki has come up with a fantastic way to celebrate that allows our site visitors to participate in the celebration. We've launched a banner contest over on the forums. The winning entry will be our new header here on the site, to promote the site's one year birthday. The only restrictions are on the header size, but other than that, we encourage you all to be as creative as you can get! For all the details, please visit the One Year Anniversary Graphic Contest thread over on the forums. Entries are due by midnight EST, May 1st!

Also, according to a Cassie Steele Podcast on The N, Lauren has booked a pilot that is shooting here in the United States. Fantastic news for Lauren, not so fantastic news for Paige fans in the fandom. But we wish her the best of luck!

March 17. 08 - Sorry for the lack of updates once again. Frankly the fandom is entirely too quiet for my liking. As mentioned in the last update, we do have a stree date for the Season 6 dvds. May 27th. So lets mark the calendars and keep our fingers crossed that we get some good deleted Palex extras.

CTV STILL has not announced an airdate for Love is a Battlefield either. It's quite curious. And I haven't been able to do caps for the episode because of not having an HQ episode to rip from. If any of you are aware of such a copy, please drop me an email so I can get some screens up from it.

February 21. 08 - Season Six of Degrassi finally has a street date for the dvd set. According to Tvshowsondvd.com, the set will drop on May 27th. There still is no news on what extras will be featured, but there should be at least one deleted Palex scene from the finale, if those episode stills that got released are any indication. So lets keep our fingers crossed.

February 14. 08 - First of all, a very happy Valentine's Day to all of our visitors here at P-A Dot Com. I like to think that in our Palex universe, Paige and Alex are off canoodling by a romantic fire.

Actually, thanks to CTV, we can keep that fantasy alive. In a very odd turn of events, Love is a Battlefield was pulled from the episode schedule. It should have aired last week, but according to CTV episode guides, it's nowhere in the schedule at all. And even stranger, there is no explanation anywhere to be found. Speculation has run rampant that it's because of the strong backlash, but there is no word if that has any ground in truth or not. We'll keep you updated here if they do indeed set a definitive airdate for the episode.

January 24. 08 - Much on Demand, which could be equated as the Canadian version of TRL, had some of the Degrassi cast on last week to preview the Season 7 premiere on CTV. Lauren had a few cute soundbytes regarding Palex and Deanna. You can check it out over on Daily Motion RIGHT HERE

Degrassi was also nominated for a GLAAD Media award. We hope that it's just for Season 6 and not the breakup. The full list of nominees can be found at Glaad.Org

For all of you Canadians, Love Is A Battlefield is scheduled to finally air on February 4th, on CTV.

January 14. 08 - Once again I apologize for the big gap in between updates. Honestly, the Palex world is immensely quiet right now. The N isn't airing any new episodes right now, and CTV has yet to start airing Season 7. I'm hoping they hurry up so that I can get some HQ caps up from 'Love Is a Battlefield'.

November 20.07 - Sorry for the big lack of updates lately gang. Unfortunately, Palex land is quite quiet. I guess that's the consequence of breaking them up. Boo on Degrassi. Anyway, Nikki and I have finally decided on winners for our trailer fanvid contest. You can find our first place and runner up HERE. Congrats to both of our vidders!

I'm still waiting to add the Love Is a Battlefield screencaps. I haven't been able to find a high quality copy though, so I'm hoping once CTV airs the episodes we'll have a better copy that I can cap with. So be on the lookout for those in the next few weeks.

I've also been trying to get the chat up and running thanks to Spikey. Unfortunately my server is being a little unstable at the moment. So I have a support ticket into my host, and I'm hoping that speeds things along just a little bit.

October 20.07 - This past week was a sad one in Palex land. Love is a Battlefield ended up being a very bad episode for our girls. Splitsville unfortunately. And not just a breakup, but a massacre. It was pretty horrible all around, and it's left our fandom feeling quite bitter. If you're as upset as most people, head on over to the forum and let your feelings be heard. I'm going to try and get some caps up of the episode this week, but I'm having trouble finding a high enough quality copy. The girls looked positively gorgeous!

A big thanks from us here at P-A Dot Com as well. As of today, we've surpassed the 50 thousand hit mark! So thanks to all of our visitors and fans for making the site what it is today!

October 10. 2007 - I've added 1000 screencaps of Deanna from her Lifetime Movie Network film, The Devil's Diary to the gallery. There is also a video file of all of her scenes, editing out the rather bland rest of the movie. You can find the clip over in the Download Episodes/Videos section of the forum. Please let us know if the link needs to be refreshed.

I've also added about 100 screencaptures of the Season 7 premiere of Degrassi, Standing In The Dark. There was only one small Palex scene, but it was quite cute nonetheless. Don't forget to tune in this Friday for Love Is A Battlefield. From the promo alone it looks to be very Palex heavy, if not quite angsty. Lets cross our fingers they don't break up our girls two episodes into the new season.

I also want to thank all of you for your continued support during our trying and difficult times over at the forum. Things seem to be going much more smoothly this last week, so I'm hoping our added security measures have paid off.

September 30. 07 - First and foremost I want to apologize to our fans here who have been looking forward to taking part in the chat function I had mentioned in a previous update. Spikey has been incredibly patient with me as I've dragged my feet the last few weeks.

As some of you are probably already aware of, our forum has recently been the target of a troll, or trolls, I'm not entirely sure if we're dealing with one or a few people. Or even spam bots. But in any case, for the last week or two, everyday there has been a new member, posting lewd or just downright ridiculous photos, all over the forum. I would go in and clean everything up, delete the user, only to have to repeat the process all over again the next day. It became quite irritating. Nikki and I decided to add three moderators to the forum in hopes that we could keep a better handle on the situation. So a big thanks to Arista, Uncreativename and Palexiot for their generous offer of help and support, we're really glad to have you on board the P-A Dot Com Staff.

Because of all of this continued disruption to our posters who actually play by the rules and are on the forums for their Palex love instead of causing trouble, we decided to implement some tighter security settings. So for ALL NEW MEMBERS, admin authorization is needed for membership. Then, once approved, posts will be moderated for a minimum of ten posts. Once we see that our new member is truly just a good ole Palex fan, then we'll lift the moderation setting for them. It seems drastic, even I feel so, but the constant irritation from our annoying little troll(s) made these steps necessary. So I sincerely apologize for all of you that are having to deal with these extra measures for the time being. You know they always say one or two people mess it up for all the rest. And that is unfortunately the case right now here. Please don't let the added restrictions keep you from joining us though!

September 18.07 - Last update I mentioned that The N had moved the premiere date of Degrassi back by a week, to October 12th. Well they've apparently had ANOTHER scheduling change, and decided to stick with the original date of October 5th. So as of RIGHT NOW, the two part, one hour season 7 premiere will be Friday, October 5th at 8pm EST.

Don't forget Deanna's movie, the Devil's Diary, premieres this Saturday, September 22nd at 8pm EST on Lifetime Movie Network as well. Based on the behind the scenes videos, she looks to have a decent sized roll, so definitely a not to be missed.

The fanvideo award winners should be announced by the end of the month. Nikki and I have been torn on winners, so we're trying to come to a unanimous decision. We're so darn picky!

Finally, thanks to the generous offer of one of our forum members, Spikey, we're going to be implementing a chat feature here on the site in the next few days. So keep your eyes peeled for that.

September 7.07 - Deanna's upcoming Lifetime movie, The Devil's Diary is set to premiere on Lifetime Movie Network on Saturday, September 22nd. In the meantime, Lifetime.Com has a couple videos up on their site to promote the movie. Both clips have a few quick shots of Deanna. You can find them right HERE

Also, The N is airing new Degrassi promos for the season 7 premiere,every Friday during the Best Years. The one hour two part premiere has now been pushed back to October 12th. This past week, a promo ran with a few seconds of what looked to be lots of Palex angst. For those of you who haven't seen it yet, you can find it over on YouTube

Finally, the second fanvideo awards wrapped up on September 1st. Nikki and I will be watching and judging sometime this coming week, so look for the winners to be announced very soon!

August 27. 07 - Not much news to be had in Palexville lately unfortunately. The Degrassi Season 7 premiere is currently scheduled for Friday, October 5th, on the N. We're hoping the closer we get to that date, the more promotional pictures and promos will pop up. In the meantime, the N is running a Degrassi marathon all this week. Every episode. So look for the Palex episodes to start popping up around Wednesday or Thursday.

Also, don't miss Lauren Collins on a new episode of The Best Years Friday night at 8:30 on The N, right after South of Nowhere. From the previews alone, it looks like we'll be seeing ALOT of Lauren in this episode.

August 12.07 - It was a surprisingly big week for Palex and especially for P-A Dot Com.

First up was a LONG review over on Afterellen, grading the entire Palex relationship. It's a fantastic read. Though we might be biased around here since Sarah Warn gave us a big huge helping of pimpage. Check out the article and then maybe drop Sarah a note in thanks for giving Palex such a nice in depth review.

Also Nikki and I want to thank all of you. We're celebrating the 1000th member over on the forums! We're still in shock how quickly the forum has grown. So many thanks to each and every one of you for making it the fantastic community that it is!

August 8. 07 - Coming a little late, since I've been without access to my ftp client to update. But Deanna is this weeks's podcast over on The N. CLICK for a fantastic little interview with Degrassi's resident bad girl with a heart of gold.

Also don't forget to make your entries into our fanvid trailer contest. Everyone has until the end of August to get their videos submitted.

August 3.07 - A big thank you goes out to AfterEllen for their inclusion of Palex in Best.Lesbian.Week.Ever. Not only that, but they gave a shout out to Paige-Alex Dot Com's fanvideo contest from last month! So check out the mention HERE. Make sure to give Malinda Lo a thanks for the Palex inclusion!

Don't forget tonight is also the Season 6 finale of Degrassi on The N. The last chance to catch some Palex goodness for at least a few months. But it's a great way to go out! And directly following that is Lauren Collins first episode of The Best Years, so make sure to not tune out after the Degrassi credits roll.

July 31.07 - Fanvideo Awards Round 2!

Nikki and I decided to make the awards a sort of ongoing thing around here, in an effort to make the site a little more interactive aside from the forums. So head on over to the fanvid section of the board, and read the submission guidelines. The theme this go around is going to be TRAILERS. We thought it'd be a nice way to amp up the fandom for the inevitable airing of Season 7. So if you're a vidder, please have a look and see if it'd be something you're interested in submitting an entry.

Also, for those with The N, this Friday, August 3rd, is going to be a Lauren Collins night. Well, no, not actually. But the season 6 finale of Degrassi is immediately followed by Lauren's first episode of 'The Best Years'. so for you big Lauren fans, make sure to tune in.

July 26. 07 - It's still rather quiet in Degrassiville unfortunately. For those of us here in the States with the N, 'Don't You Want Me Part 1' will be airing this Friday. So if you haven't seen Stripper!Alex yet, here's your chance. Speaking of that episode I still haven't managed to catch the time to write the episode summary for it yet. I'm hoping to rewatch it this weekend and feel inspired to get it done. I apologize for the delay though, I know I keep promising to do it and I keep backburnering it instead.

I did manage to cap 'Death of a Disco Dancer' though, from the DVD set. I've added around 500 screencaptures to the gallery tonight. We're over 5000 total images now! The DVD rip is also available on the forum as well, though I do definitely encourage you to buy the dvd sets.

July 13.07 - I finally managed to get our fanvideo award winners up on the site. My apologies to you guys, it's just been very hectic for me recently. This will also probably be my last update before leaving on vacation on Sunday. A week in Canada, and no, I'm actually NOT going to try and stalk our girls while in Toronto. Not that I'd mind an accidental run in mind you. lol

So if something pops up, please email my co-webmistress Nikki with any issues you might have. And also don't forget that The N is airing 'Love My Way' tonight. A not to be missed, especially for those of you who haven't been fortunate enough to see it yet.

July 11.07 - I've added about 200 caps to the gallery, all from the Deleted Scene and Blooper reel of the Degrassi Season 5 dvd release. Not a whole lot of Palex, but what there was, I might have gone a little overboard capping. Eh, better than not enough caps I figure.

I promise I'll also be adding our FanVideo contest winner this week before I head off to Toronto on vacation. I've just been bogged down with work, so updating the site has been on the backburner unfortunately.

July 5.07 - I hope ya'll are scooping up the Season 5 dvd sets. Amazon apparently is having a bit of a backlog, which I'll take as a good sign that sales are higher than they expected, but unfortunately it means those of you who pre-ordered are probably still waiting on them. But there IS a silver lining. A few Palex related tidbits to be had. I'll hopefully be getting some screencaps of the extras up sometime this weekend or early into next week.

July 2nd 07 - New layout! I was getting rather tired of the drab green and blues, so I decided to try and go for something a little more angsty, yet pretty as well. The shiny new header is all thanks to my co-webmistress Nikki. Isn't it fab? I hope you guys all like the new streamlined look of the site. If you find any broken or dead links, please drop me an email and let me know.

I'll be adding our Fanvideo award winners this week, but I wanted to get the new layout up and running first off. Also be on the lookout for some gallery additions coming in the next couple of weeks. We want to update our caps with better, DVD quality images.

June 22nd 07 - Nikki and I Wanted to give a big THANK YOU to all of our forum members. We've just crossed the 500 mark today. So to all of you, a big WOOT and YOU'RE AWESOME! Thanks for your continued support of P-A Dot Com. We're constantly amazed by how supportive everyone has been of the site. Truly humbling. On a Palex note, make sure to keep an eye on the Show Us Your Degrassi marathons this weekend. I've seen at least one new Deanna exclusive already. And the sneak peek? Palex kissage! Sometimes we really love The N.

June 11th 07 - A big thank you to all of our visitors here at P-A Dot Com. Thanks to you, in just a little over a month we've already reached 10 thousand hits! So from both Nikki and myself, our deepest thanks to each and every one of you. With the long summer hiatus setting in, we're brainstorming ideas to try and keep the site fresh and new even when things may be rather quiet in Degrassi land.

Also, for those of you with access to The N, keep an eye out on the weekends for their 'Show Us Your Degrassi' marathons. There are some behind the scenes exclusives including a few really cute short clips of Deanna and Lauren as well. Definitely a not miss for fans. There are a few downloadable clips available on the forum thanks to the Deanna Casaluce Myspace Fanpage. So a big thank you to them as well for ripping and uploading the clips.

June 4th 07 - Paige-Alex Dot Com is launching our first special event since opening last month. A Palex fanvideo contest to celebrate the N's airing of the Palex-palooza of goodness that was the end of Season Six of Degrassi. The deadline for entries is going to be June 29th, which is the return date for Degrassi. So head on over to the forums and check out all the details. A handy dandy link has been added to the 'Lexicon' for your convenience as well.

May 29th 07 - I've re-organized the episode summary section a bit, so hopefully it's slightly easier to navigate through. I've also added a few quotes from the two part season finale. And lastly, please welcome our new affiliate Consequential.

May 8th 07 - Thanks for a great first day everyone! Almost 1000 hits! Updating tonight to post a link for those who haven't seen it. Deanna has given an interview with Degrassi.TV regarding the Alex centric two part season finale. You can find it here! For those spoiler phobic though, you may want to pass. But she makes a few cute comments about Lauren as well, definitely for all the Palex fans. Keep an eye out for screencaps from the first part of 'Don't You Want Me' coming later this week as well.
